The Lord Michael Hintze, Kt., AM, GCSG

Founder and CEO, Deltroit Asset Management (UK) LLP.

 

Lord Hintze founded Deltroit Asset Management in 2024 following the sale of CQS. Lord Hintze founded CQS in 1999, and prior to that, held a number of senior roles at CSFB and Goldman Sachs. He began his career in finance in 1982 with Salomon Brothers, New York, after working as an Electrical Design Engineer in Australia, where he also served as a Captain in the Australian army.

He presently serves as a Member of the Board of Superintendence of IOR (known as the Vatican Bank). In the charitable sector, The Hintze Family Charitable Foundation has provided funding to over 200 charities. Through MH Premium Farms, Lord Hintze has significant investments in the agricultural sector.

Lord Hintze holds a BSc in Physics and Pure Mathematics and a BEng in Electrical Engineering both from the University of Sydney. He also holds an MSc in Acoustics from the University of New South Wales, an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Lord Hintze has served as a trustee of numerous charities including the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery. He is a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St. Gregory in the Vatican, a Member of the Order of Australia, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts and in 2022 was granted a seat in the House of Lords which he attends regularly.
