Georg Freiherr von Boeselager

Summary

 

After having completed his Master’s Degree in Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt), Georg Freiherr von Boeselager began his career at Bankhaus B. Metzler seel. Sohn & Co. in Frankfurt. He was licensed as a broker under the NASD- and SEC-rules and became a member of the PBW -  Stock Exchange (USA). He acted as Vice-President of several German, American and Canadian companies of the Metzler-group which were specialized in the fields of securities and real estate business.

 

Mr. von Boeselager used the expierence and skills gained there as a founding partner of Salm-Salm & Boeselager, and subsequently as manager of Bethmann Vermögensbetreuungs GmbH, both of which were specialized in the field of asset management advisory for institutional and wealthy private clients.

 

Twice in his career Mr. von Boeselager engaged himself in the management of non-profit organizations:

He joined the management of Malteser Hilfsdienst (Charitable Institution) as head of Finance responsible for Finance and the charity’s activities abroad.

Later in his career he was appointed member of the board of the Diocese of Limburg with responsibility for Finance, asset management, real estate, operations, ICT, supervisory etc.

 

In September 2004 Georg Freiherr von Boeselager joined Merck Finck & Co Privatbankiers as Generalbevollmächtigter and in September 2005 became one of the Personally Liable Partners and Member of the Management Board with responsibility for Finance/Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Human Resources, Back Offices, ICT, and Credit. Mr. von Boeselager retired in April 2016.

 

In September Merck Finck changed its legal structure from a partnership (oHG) to a corporation (Aktiengesellschaft) and Mr. von Boeselager became a member of its supervisory board, which he chairs since its inauguration.

 

He is also one of the advisors to VEDRA Group, Zürich.
